'True Blood' Renewed For Sixth Season

Naked Alexander Skarsgård enthusiasts: Today does not suck, as HBO has officially renewed "True Blood" for a sixth season. Praise Godric!

Of course, things will look a little different when our favorite vamps and weres return to Bon Temps in the winter to begin filming. News broke in February that creator/executive producer Alan Ball would step down as showrunner, though he'll continue to be involved in some capacity. Co-executive producer Mark Hudis, who's been with the show since season four, will take over the reins, according to Deadline.

Seeing that we're only four episodes deep into season five (and that I've personally decided not to read Charlaine Harris' book series upon which the TV series is based), I can't say what the major plot points will be in the series' sixth season, but hopefully Hudis can keep Ball's momentum going and transition without a hitch. Or maybe you would like to see some changes? (We've been reading your comments and tweets on the subject, trust).

Whatever the case may be, I think we can all agree another serving of Swedish beefcake is never a bad thing.

Are you excited "True Blood" is being renewed for a sixth season? Are there any changes you'd like to see from a new showrunner? Sound off in the comments and on Twitter!
