The rest of us may not be able to see Jordin Sparks' new movie "Sparkle" until it hits theaters August 17, but the songstress revealed on Twitter today that she's getting her first look at the film tonight!

"Sparkle" is a remake of the 1976 film by the same name, and Jordin is tackling the titular role. The film follows Sparkle and her two sisters (played by Carmen Ejogo and Tika Sumpter) and the ups and downs that come with their growing fame as a musical act.

Considering how amazingly talented Jordin is, there's surely no need for those nerves to be about her performance, though viewing the flick will likely be an emotional experience for everyone involved as it was Whitney Houston's final film before she died in February.

Whitney plays Sparkle's mother, and was also an executive producer on the film. Earlier this year, Jordin spoke about what the project meant to her and Whitney.

Based on the caliber of musical talent cast in the film and the music in the trailer, we're betting on a fantastic soundtrack as well. I know I'm going to be humming on my way out of the office, and well on into tomorrow.

Are you excited to see "Sparkle"? Sound off in the comments and on Twitter!
